i remember reading a book by brandon labelle. he writes about fluxus & george brecht. according to labelle, brechts work it’s no longer about the representation or reimagination of reality (e.g. the painting of water drops). instead of this, it is about the reality itself. it’s not the representation of an event, but the event itself.

a bucket below a leaking gutter;

the last drops of a tea pot in the fairness pitcher;

a not-fully closed tap that is dripping water into a sink;

we encounter executions of brechts piece everyday (a porous line between daily life & art).
